Come to think of it,
They form a lovely pair.
The River and the Land
Seem to be in a love affair!
Passionate when intricate;
As like two lovers.
Yet soft when caressing:
Like bees, kissing flowers!
Ab initio but, love is enshrouded.
She bares naught but an intriguing glance,
When the rough, rocky, ingenuous Land
Asks for her Glacier-gloved hand, for a dance!
The Mountains bear witness thus,
To the lovers’ first embrace!
Lo! Her abashed Ice-heart melts!
Land blushes ‘green’, all over his face!
His manners turn chivalrous.
Rough edges turn smooth.
She too becomes a brook now,
Both lovers coming to their youth!
Their love transmutes to passion,
Tracing ravines in his heart.
Cascading, swelling and rippling,
She too indicates furor on her part!
Valleys now left behind,
As they enter low plains;
Passion turns to reverence.
Their ingenuity now wanes.
River now turns deep and wide,
Meandering and winding around.
Matures she in beloved’s embrace:
Him growing finer from rough ground!
They become more involved,
Two separates getting intricate.
And so is formed marsh thus,
When lovers become intimate!
At last comes the delta.
Silt in water, water in silt: Thus they touch integrity.
Two souls: ever lively, ever young.
Loving, embracing, kissing since eternity!
